Is this a good tattoo idea?

i wanted to get a tattoo, and only one i think. i really like tattoos right behind your ear, but i really wanted to get one of a phoenix. first of all, do you think it would work to get a phoenix tattoo behind your ear? i don't really want it to be too simple, but to have it really complicated and big there wouldn't really work. obviously.

and, if it did work, someone said that that spot for a tattoo is trashy. i don't think so, but what do you think? do you have any other suggestions for places i could get it (preferably nowhere that will sag, haha.)

Phoenix's are really complex. I watched Miami Ink today and a guy on there got one, it was on his chest and flowed onto his arm, it was awsome. but it was massive. I think a Phoenix is a good animal, does it have any special meaning to you? They mean a 2nd chance in life.

Personal opinion is that having a phoenix behind your ear would be too small. But the place is alright for something else. You could have it on your outside thigh. Yet that may sag. Or the back of the neck would be nice. It depends if you want people to see it at work or places like that.

I think it would look awsome, is it colour or black and white? Preferably I'd go for colour.

A tat like a phoenix really needs to be in a spot where the artist can go into more detail.  Depending on how big the design and how long you want to sit in the chair getting tattooed will determine where your going to get it.  A larger detailed Phoenix would look great across the top of your back if your willing to put in the time and the money.  A smaller thinner version could go on your lower back.  When it comes to a tattoo its really all about what you want and where you want it.

I think that it would be cool to get one in the center of your back, but really low on your back!!!!  i mean, if its behind your ear ppl wont see it very well, unless you have your hair up all the time!

If you are not sure, you should wait until you get an idea that you are totally sure about.

When you think of it, you'll know.  Believe me.  I thought for a while of what tattoo to get.  Once I thought of it, I was sure it was the right thing.

As far as spot on the body- I prefer them in places that can be hidden if desired.  If you don't care about that, then go for where you want.  Your ear is quite close to your face, so keep it a simple design.

Some people think tattoos are trashy in general.  I don't.  I think if you are not a trashy person, you can rock a tattoo wherever you want it.

Don't get it behind your ear. Everyone's gona see just small part of it and they'll keep saying 'hey you got some crumbs behind your ears.'

u cant see the tattoo behind ur ear.

arm...wrist(but it really hurts there) ,u can on u back, or rite above ur butt if u were short tops. u can put it anywhere, but the point of it is to show it off.

research has shown 82% of men are turned of girls with tatoos. but if it something you really want then the best place to get one is on the back of your neck looks soooo good :)
