I want to play the same number every day midday and evening. 1$ straight. so that would be $2 everyday right? a week would be $14, a month $56, a year......$672.

using those $672 if I hit it straight at least once. I would be winning or loosing? how much is the payout?

  1. you would be losing 172 dollars if you hit once that year. It's best to play the pick 3 once and a while because that is the best way you will have a chance to make a decent profit.

New York City doesn't have a lottery. You would be playing the state lottery which has retailers in the city. Pick 3 straight payoffs are 500 to 1 in all states its played in except New Jersey which follows a pari-mutual payoff meaning around a 500 to 1 payoff.

  2. Lotteries are made solely for profit by those who own them, not to mention they are heavily taxed so the government is also making money. With that being said they use mathematical formulas to make sure statistically that they will earn money and the people playing will generally lose money (a few will win big but overall most will still lose). There isn't a way to "beat" the system, the only way you can win is "luck" if you believe in that.
