Is this a good tip from yahoo on taking a divot?

Seems like practicing this would more than likely skull the ball wouldn't it?

  1. always try and hit down on the ball (making sure to hit the ball first ofcourse)

    doing this at practise facilities at your course for a session will have you hitting nice crisp divots in no time :)

I read those Yahoo tips almost daily, and they are for the most part really really bad.  First you can't adequately explain a golf theory in two or three sentences, they are poorly written, and not edited for accuracy at all.  I have offered to eidt them for Yahoo, but guess what?  They could care less if the info is accurate or any good - just want to sell banner ads.

  3. Seldom, does a good golfer go to Yahoo or any other web site for tips to improve the golf game. Having started playing golf as a caddie, and listening to the pro as he gave a lesson to the member, the adage then and now is " Ball -turf" . Position the ball in your stance, so that you hit through the ball first and then turf which leads to taking a divot.Also consider the fact that it isn't necessary to take a divot in executing an excellent golf shot, at least for the amateur.
