He wants Derek Anderson and Clinton Portis and I would get Peyton Manning.

  1. Too much. In some leagues Portis is drafted ahead of Manning. Maybe a 1-1 trade that way. But don't throw in Anderson for free.

  2. No.

You shouldn't even be considering Portis for Manning unless you are playing in a custom league where QBs are worth way more than everyone else. Portis has been one of the most consistent running backs. However, if you really like Manning you should ask for late 3rd to early 5th Round Running Back (or WR if you feel you are quite deep at RB) in return.

  3. Too early for this trade.  You can consider that in week 10 presuming you had enough RB depth. That is the time to wipe out your bench and go for bigger talent.  This would hurt you right now.

  4. Derek Anderson is nursing an injury and the browns have had some offensive line troubles, so its normal to expect a downfall from his previous 30+ TD season, and clinton portis is a solid back but isn't really expected to contribute anymore than 1200 yards and 7 tds.

With this in mind, Peyton is also nursing his surgically repaired knee, but he is listed as probable for their upcoming preseason games...solidifying him to start in their opener.

I would send him a counter offer that would be:

Derek Anderson, Portis, and your worst wide out

    for his

Peyton Manning, and his 2nd best running back

this would even out the trade, and if he denies it, forget it, keep anderson and portis
