Who is getting the better part of the deal here?

The deal was: Laurence Maroney for Darren McFadden.

I was taking a gamble in trading for McFadden and hoping he could have a pretty decent rookie season compared to Maroney's season who is mainly with a passing team with Tom Brady, Randy Moss, and Wes Welker.

I like McFadden since he will undoubtedly be the workhorse on a poor team while New England loves to pass.  I would have done the trade in a heartbeat.  Good move on your part.

they will use Maroney more this year.  Whoever got Maroney got the better end of the deal.

Whoever got Maroney got the better part of the deal. Last year everybody saw how the giants beat the patriots by blitzing a lot because the PATS pass the ball most of the time. With the deep threat of randy moss and wes welker always gets open somehow it should open up a lot of room for maroney. We saw what maroney towards the end of last year. 835 yards in a season where the pats threw the ball like there was no tomorrow. he had 4 consecutive 100 yard rushing games.
