Is this a good travel deal to Cancun?

I will be traveling to Cancun in May 08 and have been offered to make my resort stay all inclusive for $45 a day (supposedly to include meals, transportation, alcoholic bevs and some recreation). I'll only be there for 4 days so we're talking about $180. If you've been there, does this sound like a good deal? Is it true that the resorts charge US dollars for most things like meals and bottled water? Any other advice?

Ask which plan you will be offered. There are different levels, and it sounds like they are offering the lowest one. You typically can't just order whatever you want, there will be a predetermined menu or buffet. And as far as alcohol goes, it would probably only be beer, not blended drinks. Check into it and have fun! Be careful though, it seems Mexico is pretty dangerous for tourists right now.
