Well im using

AVG Anti-Virus free 8.0

Spybot search and destroy

Zone Alarm

and Ad-aware

  1. Yes, you've covered a lot of bases with your choices.


  2. These options are fine :)

  3. No because the setup will slow down your computer since zone alarm takes more memory space and the setup does nt protect your computer from rogue antispyware. AVG antivirus is ineffective against new virus threats. Spybot search and destroy does nt detect rogue software and ad-aware does the same function as spybot search and destroy.  

  4. You will have full protection when you add one program with HIPS security.

    I.e. Defensewall (shareware) or GesWall (freeware) either you uninstall your ZA and install Online Armor Free http://tallemu.com (it has 2 in 1 - firewall + HIPS).


  5. yes you pretty much got it  covered with these protections.
