Is this a good way to make a million dollars ?????

Well I was thinking, if I walked up to you on the street and said I am trying to make a million dollars. So if you gave me $1 it would make me $1 closer to having a million and that would be what I did all day till I got the million. would you give me a dollar?????

Also I promised to donate half of the million the a charity when I got it.

The way society is today it is hard to say if it would work or not.  Years ago college students would do something similar to get tuition money.  In theory it would work.

I use to drive carriages in one large city, during that time I would watch many so called homeless people asking for quarters.  Their spiel was "can you spare a quarter for a cup of coffee?".  Many would give them a couple quarters.  After watching them over a period of several months I found out that they were not homeless, they lived in better housing than I did, and drove better cars than I did.  Estimating what they made it came to around $100 an hour for those in the business / shopping areas.  Not bad eh?

When I lived in Chicago there was one guy who stood on the corner with a cup for 8 hours asking for donations.  After the 8 hours he would walk a few blocks, get into his limo, and go home to his big house.

So yes it may work, depends on if you look like you are honest or just a scammer.  Just not sure if people today are too skeptic.  I would suggest doing a test, dress half way decent and give it a try for a day.  The next day dress like a homeless bum.  My guess is that the bum will make more.  Then try the bum look but rather than the million ask for a dollar to buy a beer.  It would be an interesting project.  Keep in mind that location is most important.  The business district mixed with high class shopping usually yields more money.  If someone calls the police on you remind them you are simply talking to people which is freedom of speech.  Good luck...

Yup actually it is a way, i read in a newspaper few yrs ago, where this person had a website, cant recall the name it was something like, makemeamillionorsomething.com, and people donated 1 pound through paypal or something. i did went to the site. and this person did made a million. True story.

Don't think so.  It's a little to honest for people to stomach.  Like Rockefeller said to the hobo who asked for a dime, if every person between NY City and Canada gave you a dime, you'd be richer than me.

Well I don't think that is a very good idea. To me that is going to feel like I owe SO many people.

I don't think many people would give you money. I mean, maybe I could give you one dollar but I would have to know you better.
