Question:

Is this a heart condition?

While sleeping on my left side, my heart began to feel "sore." The pain went away when I was laying in any other position. This has happened a few times during the night. Any ideas what it may be? It's not heartburn.

  1. Most likely by laying on your side you were putting pressure on your skeletal muscles causing them to pinch blood vessels, cramp up, etc. This would be the simplest (if not the most common) problem you could be having. If that is the problem, changing any exercise, or including stretches that most people avoid, will help.

You can't tell the difference between pain that comes from internal organs and skeletal muscles near the organs. The only real difference between them is the pattern of the pain, and that can vary wildly from person to person. There aren't enough nerves that far from the skin to feel any difference.

  2. i think it might be a stomach condition, gastritis,ulcer..anything related to stomach. coz when u lie down on ur left side, the gastric juice gets trickles down causing the sensation on ur left side?

but den again it depends on wat kinda feeling is dat.

    burning sore?

pin point inhalation? ----> lungs most likely.

anyways,i hope dis help. stil a medical student. lolz

  3. Usually people with heart conditions do not have a problem when they lay on a certain side.  If it's a positional pain, it's usually just the muscles in the chest.

  4. HI well did you know that on your left lung is smaller then your right side its true try sleeping on your right side it my help relive some pressure of your heart if pain continues see a cardiologist or you doc
