Question:

Is this a hummingbird moth? I can't find one like it on the internet.?

It looks like the clearwing ones they show, except his body looked more "shell" like, like a ladybugs wings, not fuzzy.

  1. The colors are a little strange, but it looks like a Scarlet bodied wasp moth.


  2. Unfortunately there are several species that have that common name.  That picture however is not a hummingbird butterfly.  Here is a picture of a hummingbird butterfly.  Very different.

  4. It does look like one,but I've never seen one that has a body like that.I just had one of the "fuzzy" ones in my garden today ( common clearwing) Where do you live?
