    Maybe a hyperbole, but I think it's stretching it to say that.

    Not a metaphor because it doesn't compare him to anything.

    Not a simile because it doesn't use like or as

    Not a personification because it doesn't make the colt more human-like.

    Not an onomanopoeia. Duh.

    Hyperbole would be if it made the colt sound over-exaggeratingly superb or bad.

    So I don't think so...

    Some may say it is hyperbole...but who knows, it could be the truth in that given group!
