Question:

Is this a juniper seed?

It started out round with these orange gooey spikey things sticking out of it. Then they dried up so they are pretty much just round now with the dried up orange spikes on them. If they are the seeds can I just replant them for a bonsai for example? If I can replant them do I have to wait till a certain time(them falling off the branch?)

  1. There are different species of junipers and their galbuli ( berry-like cones ) look different, therefore it might be better to see a photo.

    Moreover germination rates for common juniper seed f.e.are relatively poor, because ideal conditions are difficult to find: humidity and compact soil with sufficient oxygen diffusion .

    Seeds ripen in 6 - 18 months after the pollination. They require a period of warm temperatures followed by a period of cold temperatures lasting approximately 7 months
