  1. I think near death experience is possible given that we are spiritual to begin with.

  2. CSICOP is a debunking agency, not a genuine skeptical source of information.  Basically they have their minds made up that NDEs are all created in the brain, and then use materialism to 'prove' their point.

Its not real science, its scientism.  Which is to say having science as your 'religion'.

In short ignore that CSICOP site.

And only about 18% of the people who clinically die, have an NDE.  Hence the scarcity of documented cases.

  3. Sure why not.... NDE's are quite common in the general population. Many people do not admit to this because of being humiliated. They only reveal them to close people.  Scientist would like to tell you that they know everything about life and death. However I don't think they will be able to explain some peoples testimonials. For example, how an clincally dead person is able to decribe in detail of their surroundings through sight and sound. People are often shocked when they can recall conversaions and name people who they have never met before.

  4. NDE,s do happen, but only sometimes and to some people...i dont know why this is....ive had a NDE but only once...i didnt go to the white light, but instead i was met by my best buddie in grey fog who had actually died a week before i did....before i passed out, i had lost my complete memory, i didnt even know my name, nothing....as i was fighting to stay alive while waiting for an ambulance, i didnt even know what had happened or even who i was...when i let go, straight away i found myself in grey fog and my buddie was there and i knew him straight away, i knew who i was, everything, we spoke through our minds, our thoughts were communicated between us instead of talking with our mouths....we spoke about everything, i wanted to stay with him, and he told me i had to go back, that my sister needed me and all...then i was sent back, it was horrible, i loved the way i felt when i was there...my memory came back a short time later....it was like when ive read that blind people could see when they had a NDE, and when they returned they were still blind, but would talk about what they saw and what everything looked like including the people on the other side.......then a couple of years later i had another accident, and i dont know how long i was out for, i just woke up in hospital, they told me i had died, but nothing happened that time...it was just black......

EDIT....i just had a thought then, as to why both times were different..the first time i knew i was dying and i was fighting to stay alive but then let go and thats when it happened......the second time i had no idea it was going to happen (die) it just happened so suddenly without any warnings at all...very sudden....i have read alot of other peoples experiences with NDE,s and i was surprised when i came across other people that were met by loved ones in grey fog....im going to have another look at other experiences and see how the person died when they had the NDE....maybe its got something to do with how you die and if its sudden or not....i truelly believe we will all go to the after life,  but maybe its delayed with some people on their circumstances....im going to look into it a bit more...interesting...i never thought of it like that.......

  5. If you have ever had a near death experience yourself then you would not be asking this question. This site if for them as they need to work out for themselves what it is,,,, and not for  you.

  6. I died when I was a kid, drowning, I couldn't get back to the surface and every thing just went black.  The next thing I know I'm on the beach with lifeguards and a bunch of people watching me puke up water.  Sorry but I missed  out on the whole hovering over my body thing.  It's a real website, I don't know about the stories!

  7. If you experience serious trauma (i.e. near death) any number of things can happen to you, physiologically speaking.  Religious people find something in their experience that dove tails with their religious set of beliefs.  However, these experiences aren't really anything more than anecdotes.  To get further detail you have to die and in so doing you aren't able to provide any testimonial to the rest of us because you're dead.

In my opinion NDEs are "dreams" caused by disfunctioning or deteriorating brain function.  I believe similar experiences can be reproduced in a lab.

Oh, and don't listen to those close minded people who are insulting CSICOP and its work.  That organization has brought more truth to the world than any New Age woo-woo spiritualist out there.

  8. you wont believe me if i show you .. yes its so easy to believe in whatever  u like and ask opinions too , question??   why not ask GOD?? OH yes most dont think HE IS REAL  ..  , WELL    SHHH DONT tell it to everyone  u know the scoffers will  always  disagree!!   serious here though  WHY  not ask? why not look into what GOD has said about death in the bible and not just what you hear from others?? is it ok to see what someone says that HE knows about this that is an authority because He says in HIS word it was HIM that created u and that u just did not evolve? yes christians well meaning ones get this wrong to , u see if u want answers u dont read a few lines in a book and say  i know it all hehehehe!!  nooooo!   u sure would not pass any tests in school this way,,  u have to do the full research to see what it says fully and not just  a line or two out of a chapter here and their,,  . its just  a suggestion now ,, you have the abilty to say  yes or no ,, mj

  9. I'm not sure but it is an interesting site. The one listed below is legit though. This experience (NDE) was first studied by Raymond Moody, M.D. (link below) who at one time worked with Elisabeth Kubler-Ross (link below).

  10. Here's another interesting bit about NDE's.It might explain a few things.

  11. Well you don't have a working link but I would Say there are real stories there and probably some made up ones.

  12. Most skeptics don't question the validity of the experience itself (in that they believe the people are telling the truth) what the debate is really about is what really happened. The paranormal explaination is that the spirit actually leaves the body. Skeptics, on the other hand, offer other scientific explainations, including brain discharges, chemical rushes, etc.

I've researched this topic, and both sides have some very compelling arguements. I've never had a NDE, but I have had Lucid Dreams and OBE's which are similar and all I can tell you is that it FEELS real. Still, I'll be honest when I say, I'm not sure what I believe. I'm a bit of a fence sitter.

  13. science will always find away to dismiss anything that they can not prove with numbers and wasted money. It would take many skeptics, non believers and even an experience with  NDE,for these stubborn souls to understand "yes they can relax"it happens all the time...!and the only chemical misfiring is the one in there brains ,that there to afraid to open and really see with the soul, spirit, and heart!God may not call us home at that moment......but its nice to see theres a home waiting for us.....!blessed be!
