PLEASE HELP ASAP!!! Could i Have miscarriaged??

I was gone out of town for a few weeks and I was supposed to have my period while i was out there but i didn't. When I came home me and my boyfriend had s*x. as we did before i left. So i was home a week and I still hadn't had my period. So I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. I never had symptoms such as nausea. Then a few days to a week later, my period hit. It was really heavy and it cramped all night and it was thick..not just blood. maybe discharge. This lasted for a full 24 hours and it was over. then it went back to my normal period. My periods have always been light and over in about 4 or 5 days. I'm not on any medications or birth control. So can someone please help me?? thanks everyone i appreciate it!!!

i feel i need to add this...I know for a fact that I am not pregnant anymore. I just wandering if someone could help me determine if it was a miscarriage or if the pregnancy test could have read wrong. the cramping and heavy bleeding happened about a week after I took the test. But i repeat...I knoe i'm not having a baby...I'm sorry for any misunderstanding.

  1. If you were pregnant (and it wasn't just a falty test, which happens), and now you're not pregnant any more - it was a miscarriage.

But... consider that people have these types of events quite more frequently than is known.  The body is designed to auto-terminate a pregnancy if things don't go right (to prevent a bad situation for you or the baby down the road like severe birth defects).

It may be hard to accept, but it's natural for this to happen.  As long as you didn't abuse your body, you did nothing wrong.  Miscarriages are very, very common.  Mostly during the first 3 months.

When I first learned about miscarriages I was astounded by the percentage of pregnancies that result in miscarriage.  It's just not something people talk about a lot.

I recommend going to see your doctor... depending on how far along you were, they may need to perform a simple/quick procedure to make sure you're going to be okay in the long run...i.e. to make sure your body did what it was supposed to do entirely and completely.  Your doctor will explain it more thoroughly.

    Good luck.

  2. First trimester miscarriage are more common than most people think.  It is not uncommon at all for a pregnancy to end by natural causes when the mother is under the age of twenty and whose sexual relations are not VERY regular.  A miscarriage is normally indicated by abnormally heavy cramping,(in bed all night crying) and a heavy longer,(six to ten week) flux.  Lighter cramping and flux have been known to happen, but if you have ANY doubt in your head what so ever, you need to see your regular heath provider.  If you are scared to go to your regular doctor, go to the local chapter of planed parenthood.  After a miscarriage it is important to get a DNC so you don't end up with a potentially life threatening infection from any bacteria that may have entered your system as well as any product that may have not been expelled as it should.
