I started my period on January 24th, 2008, since then I've been getting a period every 2 or 3 months, my mom says "It'll regulate eventually" but like, It's been like that since today, August 18th.

Is this normal for an 11 year old girl?

Because I'm kind of freaked out :(

  1. I'm only 12 and I haven't got my periods yet but I know a lot about them.

Every girls periods are irregular at first are are like this until they reach a more mature age.

    (around 18)

    I hope this helps

  2. yes, they will be very irregular for about 1 year until you cycle gets established...you mom is correct!!!!

  3. Periods can be irregular when your younger (lucky! mine was every 21 days like clockwork from my 10th birthday on!!).

It can take a year or two for your hormones to balance and your body to finish maturing.  You can always ask at your next dr. visit and see what they think.

  4. my daughter is 10 she had started her period and her cycle is way off her doctor said that her period would work its self out and she would become regular!! you have nothing to worry about you will get regulated

  5. Don't worry your young. If it continues later in life birth control is very affective at bringing this under control.

  6. mother knows best.

    dont worry.
