Is this a normal side affect of anxiety?

i've been havin anxiety for a while . and i'm getting over it. but ive lost sooooo much weight and sum people r noticing . is that normal from anxiety???????????

  1. Yes, anxiety increases your levels of stress hormones, which increase your metabolism and also generally decrease your appetite.  If you're stressed for a while, you can lose weight.

  3. Anxiety causes the central nervous system to speed up so weight loss is often a side effect. Add a few more carbs to your diet so that it doesn't burn off so quickly.

  4. It's normal for some people to lose weight due to not being able to eat much when feeling anxious.  

    If you are concerned, talk to your MD.

  5. I am delighted to read you are overcoming your anxiety. Yes it is perfectly normal to lose weight when suffering from it.

    As you maintain your equilibrium your weight should start to improve again. Google a short piece called Desiderata - it should help you a lot right now. Please do not fret about the weight issue otherwise you will continue to lose it and possibly trigger off the anxiety again.
