Question:

Is this a normal side-effect of Ibuprofen?

I broke my ankle this week, and the pain became really unbearable. I don't usually take any medicine, but this time I made an exception. Just as the pain began to go away, I also began to get really depressed. I had depression up until last year (it's been mostly gone for about 8 months now), so it's possible that I'm feeling down again about the fact I can't get out now. However, I haven't been feeling bad about my ankle at all for the last couple days, until I took the pills. Are the two related? It's not listed as a side-effect on any website I could find.

  1. I think your down because as you said you can't get out, that would make anyone depressed but make sure you don't overdo it with the ibuprofen they can be harmful to your health always follow the directions. Take care.

  2. I've never heard of an anti-inflammatory having that effect.  My guess is that you are depressed because you broke your ankle.  I don't find that strange at all.  I would be depressed too!

I hope you feel better soon!
