Is this a possible way to harvest energy?

Remember how in the matrix those machines used the heat from humans as energy?

So is it possible for us to use common animals like cats and dogs or mice, or perhaps incubate lots and lots of bacteria or something and harvest energy from either in the form of heat or some other?

no, you can only output whats put in, so the energy out put would be equal to the amount of energy you could get from burning the animals food

not to mention the fact that that plan is sick and twisted

It could have some minor power uses, sort of like solar power for running a calculator, but the very small device run off such energy would have to be very digitized and lightly constructed. I couldn't see much beyond powering a watch as a use for it though.
