Is this a quality TV to satisfiy my needs?

hi guys, my dad brought home a Hitachi 55HDT79 plasma tv.

my concern is that it is a older model not the 1080p verison. its brand new and was a gift. i just want to no whats the deal with this tv.. and would it still be good to play on my 360. any other info u have about this would be great. thanks

Hey its a gift, what do you got to loose as long as its an HDTV. They are not even broadcasting tv in 1080p format yet or any time soon. Even if they do 1080p totally compatible with 1080i. The only thing that has go 1080p signals as of now are HD DVD's, Blue ray disks, and 1080p upconverting DVD players. Enjoy your tv.
