Is this a rat tumor or something??

my rat has a large lump on her neck, about the size of a marble. it developed in about 3 or 4 days and we dont know what it is. we read that its normal for rats to get tumors but theyre around the stomach area. this is on her neck and looks like she has something in her cheeck

but its a little far down. please help

I know people say "I'm not going the the vet for a rat!" but it does not cost much, and I would suggest taking him in...you never know. Don't take a chance :)

Is she in pain? If shes not it could be a cyst but you should take it to the vet for proper treatment.

Rats can get tumors ANYWHERE. Not just on the stomach area.

It could very well be a tumor. How old is your rat? There's also the possibility it's a cyst/abscess. Only way to really know, is to have her evaluated by a vet.

I had a male rat pass away from a cancerous tumor on his neck. One of my female rats went through surgery to remove a mammary tumor.

I had a rat about 5 years ago that got a tumor on her neck.

So, it could be that. She had to be put to sleep :(

ok start out by touching the mysterious lump. is ur rat showing any signs of pain? if so if could be an abcess. id recommend calling ur vet to ask about the lump. if this could be life threatning to ur rat ( very unlikley) please go to ur vet.

yes, i would think that be a tumor, but still take your rat to the vet.
