  1. humanity issue

  2. A personal choice issue that has been grossly politicized by right wing, fundamentalist pundits that are against women taking control of their bodies and their lives, and in turn the overthrow of the patriarchy....If you don't believe in abortion, don't get one!!!! My body, my choice!!!! the personal is political (i.e. legal) when they try to take away our rights, and the fight to gain, and retain the right to make our own reproductive decisions in the first place!!!

  3. It's a woman's health issue foremost.  Then, it's a eugenics issue.  Roe vs. Wade did not decide if abortion is right or wrong.  It decided that our GOVERMENT has no eugenic right to allow or force abortion, as is done in other nations.  One conservative "Family Values" administration might require Black women on welfare to have abortions, as many conservative organizations have advocated for.  One administration might require that all women have abortions after one child, as has been the case in China.  By diffusing that decision to individuals, we as a society avoid eugenic governmental behaviors.  Roe vs. Wade protects us from eugenics.

  4. All 3 plus men's issue. You need a man to get pregnant in the first place.

  5. Well, it's of importance to religious people, it's certainly has importance to women, and it has a ton of legal importance, so I would have to say, all of the above.

  6. It is a legal issue. No one other than 9 judges had any input into the decision. Slavery was once legal, women not allowed to vote was legal, but these same feminist state if it is legal it must be moral?.

  7. All of the above. It pertains to all three catagories and I know you are referring to another person's question because I read your answer.

Religious issue because it depends on what God wants you to do about this.

Woman's issue because it is in fact the woman's body

Legal issue because in most states, it is legal to abort your baby during a certain time period in the pregnancy.

This here is a touchy subject to everyone. After answer the question you are referring the abortion 'catagory' issue about, and reading another answer that provided links of aborted babies at 7 weeks into the pregnancy, and late pregnancy abortions...it really tore me up inside.

This subject relates to all catagories you have mentioned. So with that said, when the question is asked, it should direct it to the specific catagory like, religion, legal, or the woman's rights to her body etc.

To me, it doesn't matter what catagory, I will still answer the question because it is a sensitive issue.

  8. All of the above.

It is a religious issue because of morality of taking a life that God or a devine creator has seen fit for us to make

It is a womens issue because of the impact that an unwanted pregnancy would have on a womans career or relationships and how the abortion would "solve the problem". Despite the resulting complications and added emotional trauma. If we created that life, do we have the right to end it? What if the woman wants to keep the baby, but the man says no? What if the man wants to keep the baby and the woman says no?

That leads to the most recent legal issue. Laws have almost been passed that say that the man has the right to tell the woman that if she keeps the baby, he will have no legal obligation to it because he doesn't want it. That is wrong on a whole other level. It takes two to tango. If a man doesn't want a child, he should take precautions not to have one in the first place! But the same could be said for the woman. If you have consensual s*x, you know the risk involved. Be mature about it and deal with it.

That leads to another issue. Should a woman who is the victim of rape be forced to carry the child of her rapist? Regardless os your religious standpoint, that is a very grey area. I would never wish that on anyone. I would totaly understand if she was unable, or unwilling to carry that child.

One of my main concerns is that women who have abortions are not fully educated about what they are doing. Many of them think that they are simply discarding a lump of flesh. They don't know that their unborn child may already have a heartbeat and the sensation of pain. This has nothing to do with religion, it is a fact. That ignorance is made evident in the other posts.

I think that abortion is too easy in this country. It is too readily available. If it were harder to get an abortion, people wouldn't be so inclined to do it so quickly.

  9. A woman's issue, a legal issue depending on what the father wants, and a religious one - if that applies.

Why? She has to carry the child or not; the father may or may not want to have anything to do with the child.

  10. hmmm i guess it depends on the person for number one im not religious so it is definitely not a religious issue for me, it is a women's for sure and definitely not a legal issue.

  11. All 3 some would argue depending on the person. For me, it is a religious issue.

  12. For a lot of people, it would be all three. "My religion thinks it's wrong", and "A woman can choose whatever she wants to do with her body, and a man doesn't have any say whatsoever." and "I don't think the government or I have to the right to tell someone what to do with their body, so for that reason politically, and legally I'm pro-choice." It can be considered an issue for all three of those categories, but some people, like myself feel it is a moral and conscience issue. All religion, and politics, and gender aside, for me it is a moral issue. My own conscience would prevent me from having an abortion. I agree that I do not, and should not have control over someone else's body, so I'm pro-life, but only in my life. That doesn't mean that politically I'm pro choice though, I can't vote yet, and I'm not even sure that I would want to if I could. All of those things could be a factor, but the biggest for me, is conscience and morals.

  13. A legal one, in my opinion.

Obviously, it becomes a female issue, by default, but that doesn't exclude the importance of the male voice in the decision.

As far as it being religious....that's difficult - because then you begin splitting hairs about the which religion's voice one should listen to....

  14. I'd say legal because we all should have the consitutional right to living, even if we can't speak. Half of babies here murdered are male. But it could be taken as a women's issue especially since baby girls are murdered more frequently in other countries.

  15. Religion - Teacher of morals ... Yes abortion is religious ... Jewish, Christan, Muslim, Buddhist, and Hindu have all made statements that they are against abortion because it devalues life.

    Woman's - Bearer of Life ... Yes, abortion is a woman's issue.

Man's - Creator of life (sperm) ... Yes, abortion is a man's issue.

Legal - Laws to protect the citizens ... does life start at conception ... or 10 weeks later?  I say conception ... and an Advocate (lawyer) needs to speak for the fetus that cannot ... Yes it's legal.

  16. All three.

For some, religion is an issue as to whether abortion should be legal or not, or if a woman can have one and still be true to her religious faith.

Some see it as a woman's issue because it is she who becomes pregnant and she who will have to undergo the procedure...and deal with any emotional aftermath...often on her own.

It can also be a legal issue because there may be a father who is opposed to the woman aborting the baby...and may want to adopt the child to raise himself...or you may have a case of someone pressuring someone else to undergo an abortion who doesn't want to do it.

  17. The last two. Religion shouldn't qualify because not everyone believes in religion so not everyone confronts it that way. But with the last two EVERYONE confronts it regardless if they are religious or not.

  18. I'd say all three. A religious issue because some religions say that fetuses are humans and aborting them is murder. A woman's issue because women are the ones who get pregnant, and pro-choice people usually say it's the women's choice. And a legal issue because people either want the law to say they're legal or have it say they're illegal.

  19. All of the above.  It could also be an ethical or moral issue.  Personally I could never have an abortion because I simply don't have the heart to do it, but I understand the benefits towards society so I am pro-choice.

  20. A MORAL ISSUE-NOBODY HAS THE RIGHT TO PLAY GOD WITH AN INNOCENT CHILD'S LIFE-FULL STOP!!

  21. all!     but for jews it is against torah\bible to hab=ve an abortion! so its legal, relegious, and a womans issue lol
