Is this a reputable charity organisation?

Question

I would like to sponsor a child in Kurdistan and have come across the Kurdistan Save the Children/Kurdistan Children's Fund website on the internet. I know there are scams on the internet and I don't want to fall into one, so can anybody verify that this organisation is a reputable one please? It is not the International Save the Children Fund, a completely separate one.

I think I would start with the fact that there is no place called Kurdistan which makes this at sound very dodgy.

There is more than one organization called Save the Children, and some are more closely affiliated than others. There is one that is based in the UK, and there is one that's based in the USA, for instance, but they have different offices and approaches in the developing world.

You will need to contact BOTH the UK office and the USA office to see if this Kurdistan Save the Children is affiliated with either. I'm pretty sure Save the Children UK does NOT do child sponsorships anymore, but the USA still does.

Save the Children is a legitimate non-profit agency based in Oklahoma. When in doubt, contact them and ask.

Help them so that they may help others.  Give them knowledge.
