Limerick #1

By C.S. Scotkin

There once was a gal on an island

Who liked to cry out on a pilin’

Watch tides in and out

Till she gave a shout,

“My ship’s come in at last” and she’s smilin’

  1. Let's all lift our glass in a toast

To this lady who lives near the coast

    She's smart and she's funny

    Her poems bright and sunny

And friend, that's a fact, not a boast!!

    hurrah.

  2. Of all the delightful images created here, one stood out more than the rest. Yelling at me. Screaming to me. Alerting me........Limerick # 1

That can only mean there will be more......I'm baiting my breath.....GM

  3. It works.

  4. So close.

    "Pylon" would work in L2.

And the last line is too long.

"Her ship has come in and she's smilin"

  5. I am not sure what a "pilin' " is but I would imagine a pylon would be something by the sea she may sit on and cry. (am I being regional again?)

    * pilin' for me is another medical term. :-)

Otherwise it's a really good limerick arrgh to be shore to be shore.

  6. There is not enough  talk of s*x... sorry... it is the only kind of limericks I know... Not one mention of Nantucket, the port all seamen go.

  7. im loving how your exploring so many avenues of writing, and while i will always love the man from nantucket, i like this G rated limerick...

  8. Arrrrrrgh, me matey! Aye, this be sea-worthy indeed. In fact, I might just load it on me boat and sail away with it! Avast!
