Is this a serious problem?

Whenever I turn my computer on NOTHING comes up. I mean my desktop picture is there but there is nothing else. not the little bar that comes up at the bottom and none of my icons. Now i have one of those keyboards where you can hit the button and something will come up (internet browser, pictures, documents, etc.) none of them are working. The only thing that comes up is the windows task manager thing. THe little box doesnt even come up when i right click. What is wrong with my computer? Is this a serious problem?

ok, while your computer is starting up press F8 then go into safe mode, and run a virus scan

it could be a virus

safe mode is the only way to fix anything when your computer is doing that

Start up in Safe Mode - hold down the F8 key during the bootup process.  Make sure you start pressing it just before the Windows logo comes up.  Choose Safe Mode with Networking and see if things are OK there.  Sometimes, just booting into Safe Mode will fix problems like this.

Reboot normally and see what happens.

Sounds like corrupted software or even a virus, try starting the computer in safe-mode then un install any recently installed software that you installed just before the problem started

Kinda, restart it a few times. if it continues to do this you might need to reboot but that will wipe out everything you might have caught a virus on your comp
