my front passenger seat speaker has something wrong wit it, i have to like bridge a ground (say for example a metal plate from the car) to a little bit befor the negative terminal that plugs into the speaker cuz if i dont it doesnt work. and then most of the times when i turn off the stereo neither of the fron speakers work and i have to unplug and then plug back the terminal of my passenger side speaker to make it work... what can i do?

how would i fix this short circuit thing? i just put in a new stereo... does that have anything to do with it? or should i follow the wire all the way to the speaker?

  1. follow the wire back or install new wiring from the deck to the speaker(recommended)

i have no idea wtf you would need a ground wire for the thing is bolted to the door right

    goodluck

  2. Never ground speaker wires to car you will blow the radio.Did you solder your connections and heat shrink em.If not you have bad connections from your install behind your radio fix em quik or you will blow the radio

  3. Agree with dn24210r....a chasis ground to your front speaker is never a good thing, nor should it be required.  I know it's a pain, but the only way to be completely sure is to replace the run of wire.  The other option is to start checking continuity between the speaker connection and your temination points at the head unit but sometimes it's quicker to just pull a new wire!
