Question:

Is this a sign i'm losing weight?

Okay, this is a really stupid question which probably makes me look ignorant, but I was just curious. For the past 2 weeks I've been on a diet and have been working out with a personal trainer 3 times a week. I haven't weighed myself yet, because i'm still scared to see my weight even though I have been feeling 10x better of myself. For the past week or so I've been having really good (and big) bowl movements. Would this be a sign that i'm losing weight?

  1. uh first that was a really gross question. but i would think it probably has something to do with better eating, maybe including more fiber in your diet. and then the exercise.  


  2. This doesn't make you sound ignorant at all.

    What's probably happening is, as your diet has improved and I'm assuming you've increased your fiber intake, your body is naturally getting rid of a lot of the garbage that tends to accumulate in the digestive system.

    If you've been working with your trainer for 2 weeks, I would recommend weighing yourself.  

    Another good way to see results is to take pictures of yourself.  When I got back into shape, I took pictures every week.  Even though I didn't see a huge change on the scale, I could definitely see improvements on the pictures.

  3. Just means you are eating proper and are getting a lot of fiber in your diet. Doesn't mean your body is getting rid of toxens or extra garbage. Your digestive system is not a english muffin where it has nooks and crannys where it stores that garabage.

    Only way to know for sure is to weigh yourself. So suck it up and hop on the scale. If you are confident enough that you are really working hard towards losing weight then you probably are.

  4. the only way to tell is to jump on a scale and find out. you will probably be plesantly suprised.

  5. the best advice I ever received when I was trying to loose weight was, "go by how your cloths fit, not by what the scale says"... numbers don't mean a whole lot when you start breaking everything down...
