Question:

Is this a sign of ADD/ADHD?

I'm a slow reader. It takes me about 10-20 minutes to read 2 or 3 pages of a book (I kid you not), because I read slowly and I usually re-read parts of a page because I don't fully absorb the information the first time I read it. I guess I have a hard time concentrating.

As a result, I don't read books often. I also have this problem when I'm reading something on the internet. I don't like having to read a long internet article. Just seeing that it's long makes me not want to read it.

Could this be a sign of ADD/ADHD?

Btw, I know of someone who has a similar problem with reading. She said that she recently took an Aderall pill and it enabled her to read a book quickly.

  1. You probably have ADD. If you are hyper, you have ADHD, but since you give no clues of also being hyper, I assume you probably have ADD.

  2. no, sometimes it may take long for u to understand something,.

  3. well, to tell u the truth, u sound like me, im mildly depressive and i've got ADD , despite the fact that i can read about 100 pages per hour i cannot concentrate on anything else for more than like 5 minutes =S

  4. mmm you don't have ADHD..

but you might have ADD only way to find out..

    is go to your doctor..

  5. No, you don't have ADD

And ADHD is out of the question.

You are born with ADD/ADHD, you don't just get it.

If you really had ADD on any kind of level you would not be able to focus enough to read 3 pages no matter how long it took you.

And reading 2-3 pages in 15 minutes is not that bad unless you're reading a childs book.

Everyone at some point reads a paragraph and has no idea what they just read and has to reread it.

You lack motivation and interest in whatever you're reading.

What are you reading? It is probably something you don't want to be reading.

Don't blame it on ADD/ADHD like most people do for an excuse.

Just find something you're interested in,

Try it, what are you interested in? Find a novel about it, and read, you'll be fine.

Stay away from Aderall, it's not a magic pill that can make you read faster.
