I found this written by my little brother:

"My curtain is breathing. So it seems when the wind blows on it from behind. The wind breaths, it has the same motion or patterns as our own breath. It is alive. The whole world is alive"

  1. Sounds like your brother is creative. It doesn't seem like mental illness to me :)

Actually, it's similar to something that I would have written.

  2. It sounds like a nice poem to me.

  3. It sounds like animism.

  4. it depends on how old your brother is and what HIS doctor has to say about other behavior. youre just overreactiing. it sounds more creative like a writer than crazy

  5. I'm so agreeing with everyone else, he sounds so creative in what he is writing. In analyzing what he is saying, it's  a refreshing of fresh air when he sees the wind blows the curtains and  the wind is a reflection of air in which air we breathe. When we breathe we inhale and exhale this fresh air which depict (gives us a picture) of us as being alive. we can see air within the winds and this we see as being alive.

Animism is the belief that things in nature, e.g. trees, mountains, and the sky, have souls or consciousness is

what was explain above which is the case.

Your little brother is brillant. No mental illness I can see in what he's writing.

  6. To me that sounds like a very creative mind. He has a talent for imagery.

And he also sounds very enlightened about the ways of Nature. I wouldn't be worried.

  7. Sounds like a really good piece of writing to me.

But then it depends how old your brother is etc.

And if thats the only sign you have, then it probably isnt

  8. The world is alive... i don't know about the curtain.

  9. No I don't think it's mental illness to be honest,

that seems more of a metaphorically, and well i might add, written line for something perhaps (like a poem or some kind of written piece).

Maybe you should just ask him about it..probably better than jumping to conclusions.

He might just be good with words

  10. No... just.... no, no, no. This is in no way a sign of mental illness. (In fact, even if he seriously believed this as opposed to writing what appeared to be creative writing, it would more accurately be described as peculiar belief or magical thinking, not in itself a disorder at all. People have believed odder things and been totally sane). If this is the only sign, you are definately over-reacting.
