I'm planning on building a gaming rig, to play games such as Call of Duty 4, BioShock, Crysis, The Orange Box, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, and some unreleased games.

Anyways, please tell me, from an expert's point-of-view, is this a good gaming rig?

Is this rig efficient enough? I'm planning on overclocking my CPU. Does my PSU have enough wattage?

Thanks in advance for all positive input.

  1. Looks good though you probably should go with a higher wattage power supply.  If nothing else, this will keep your computer up to date as it ages and you replace cards which might have higher power needs.

What operating system will you use?  Vista can be somewhat problematic with some games, but you'll need it for certain ones like Crysis and Halo 2.

  2. I'd have to say to upgrade your mobo. You have some high ends parts, and you don't want them bottle necked by your mobo. Check out the 780i or the 790i. And for a video card, you should consider the MSI NX8800GT from newegg. I have it, and it pwns every game, but i only have 1. And your PSU is fine. And make sure that you get an OS, and it has to be a 64 bit version.

  3. I'd go with a higher wattage. 750 maybe. And I'd go with a newer motherboard 780i should be good..Also,  I'd get a 300gb WD raptor drive for your OS and the itb drive for data/storage.

    Otherwise it's good.

  4. maybe a better mobo and a 700 watt psu instead. if u want u can upgrade the sound card to an xtremegamer card. q6600 is a very popular cpu so u could upgrade to that. and id prefer to get two 500gb hdd and set them to RAID 0. buuut as is that could play pretty much any game today. i looove the 8800gt's.

  5. that is one hellowa assembly

if you can afford this much than you should try Alienware Gaming Systems...

you will get everything with official support too and that too with style

    check out Alienware's website

  6. Thats on fire dude!!

Wish i could play on that!
