Okay if someone said

I HOPE you and your family die, /or I WISH for that.

Never saying, that someone I or someone else or anything would actually do that, just saying that is what i wish for that.

okay in michigan someone said that to my teacher and she threatened to call the cops when i "don think" that is a threat.

And just being a friend, I wan't to know if she woulg get in any trouble.

yeah, its over petty stuff. homeowrk that the techer said she didn't turn in and they got into a little argument.

Also, can you get in trouble if you say "I HATE YOU"

with the law?

She got suspended, but can anyone press charges?

  1. with all the violence against teachers and students I don't know what they would classify that as but they will probably get her counseling and if i was a teacher I would take that as a threat because you never know anymore in some schools she wouldnt be allowed back in

  2. Saying you hope they will die, is not a crime, saying you are going to kill them is.

You are allowed to hate, but rules in school are not laws and you can get suspended for that which is not a crime.

  3. Law? Maybe. In some states this could be viewed as a form of assault, verbal, but still assault. Saying "I hope you die" and then if that person DOES die, do you think you just might become a suspect if it was a homicide? Being underage, you have virtually NO rights under the law (check with a lawyer if you do not believe me), and what the school rules say goes with NO appeal in most places. Your parents CAN challenge a ruling but as a minor, YOU can not. Arguing with a teacher for the most part is a losing proposition for the student. It does not matter if the words meant no threat as such, if the teacher perceived a threat, then threat it IS and the teacher is justified in taking an action to remove the threat. From what you say of the words used, I would call this a temper tantrum and she deserved what she got as a result of her immature childish behavior.
