Is this a urinary tract infection or yeast infection?

I started wearing thongs because everyone sings their praises.

At first I just had intense vaginal itching. Now it hurts when I pee and p**p. There is a ton of pressure in my vaginal area. I have not had this type of infection in my adult life yet (lucky me). The only thing I have been doing differently is the thongs. Although clearly I've stopped wearing them now that this has happened. Should I go get antibiotics?

Make a doctor appointment, then you can be tested for an infection and if needed you can get an antibiotic.

If it hurts when you pee,it sounds like a urinary tract infection. Antibiotics is a good idea, but otherwise eat lots of yogurt( good cultures in them) and drink cranberry juice. I found it helped for me.
