  1. Depends really on the game, Nvidia video cards are well perfered over ATI for many game developers so things will appear better, A 8600 is a very good video card though and I think it will make a good upgrade. Just don't expect too much from it.

  2. upgrade to a video card with 512 mb and before you consider upgrading video cards make sure your cpu and such is up to par

  3. You asked this question in a Laptop forum....  It will be very difficulty changing video cards in a laptop.  I think you need to tell us what you are doing with the computer before we can say if you will see a difference.

If you're just surfing the net or simple word processing, you wont see a difference.  If you are a gamer, you might.

  4. maybe a little but i would suggest saving for the geforce 8800 cause then you will notice a big difference, and also if you have xp youll still mostly be running DX9 so you wont notice a big difference but in vista you have more of an oppurtunity to see the big jump between slightly better videocards.... so basically if xp try to get a better upgrade, but with vista even a small upgrade is a big difference

  5. GForce is a good one, also your CPU must be capable of supporting the graphics card.

  6. Technicaly yes. However, if you have a slow processor, a small amount of ram, and an older harddrive, then no, it won't give you much improvement.

It's like adding new tires to a car with 50hp...will the car run smoother? yes. Will it run faster? maybe.
