Is this about average for a 12 year old beginner?

Question

I hit the ball about 200 yards in the driving range. I only have 4 clubs because I don't go that much. So I have only 1 iron and can hit with that about 90 yards. When I use my wedge I get on the green about 7/10 times. And I am pretty good at putting. I usually get 8/10 for putting. I've only played for a month and the best score I got on a Par 4 course was a 3. I usually get par or bogie. But sometimes I get a Birdie. Also, I drive it off a tee very straight.

Is this average for a 12 year old?

I do not want people to think I am only looking for comments.

I want to know if it's average.

That's pretty good for not having played before.  You'll get better as you get older. Great job as a beginner though

There is no way say an average for a 12 year.

Unless you can get data of all 12year old players after playing for one month.

Everybody learns at different times so this makes everyone different.

I would say you are doing really well. If you get an average of pars and bogies you could have an handicap of 18 in theory. So for after one month this is really good.

Don't worry how good/bad you are compared to other 12years old etc, but get on with your own game and enjoy it.

Keep practicing and you will be great.

I never started at 12, but 13 and after one month I was getting mainly bogies+ and that was on an 18holes par 3 course.

It has took me 6years to be able to play off 15 on a par68 golf course.

I know people who are really really good after 6 years.

If ur telln the truth then on a scale of 1-10 ur probably an 8! Thats awsome for a beginner. I've just started also. If ur really hoocked like me than save ur money and get a complete set of golf clubs like the Walter Hagan Boy's Varsity Complete Set... u can find that at d**k's Sporting Goods for only $200

h**l of a lot better than I can do and I am 33.  but all I do is go to driving range and at least I can hit ball a little further.

Against the average twelve year old your pretty good but against exeptional or kids who play a lot your a little below average.
