Question:

Is this action bad for my tansmission??

I drive a Manual Transmission vehicle and when im driving at a speed of 40 to 60 mph sometimes i tend to put the car in neutral and let the car ride..then when its time for more gas ill throw it in the proper gear.. is this bad for my engine?

  1. Don't think so, I've done it for years on every stick I ever owned.


  2. nope not bad.. i do sometimes... just saves some gas

  3. it wont hurt the engine, but by going faster in neutral, your just wearing out the brakes faster.

  4. It's goofy in genral. Why would you do that?

  5. not bad at all...... saves you gas, and as long as you shift back into the gear appropriate for the speed you're traveling, no harm done.
