I think this is rather tacky. A lottery for a chance to live in the USA. How low can they go? Surely this isn't real?

huh?  its a very cheap and easy way for the USA to attract and get details of talented workers from all over the world

the americans are not stupid, they know theyre gonna face competition for people from china over the next century

Yes it is real, I cannot understand why people would want to live there, unless they have had a lobotomy.

The USA has had a "merit-based" lottery for citizenship for many years.  Yes, it's real.

We need to import more smart people because we aren't manufacturing enough smart people inside the country out of "natural-born" citizens.  We have too many children who want to grow up to be pop-stars or lawyers, and not enough who want to be doctors, dentists, bankers, computer engineers, etc., etc., etc...

and it's a real scam I still live in britain and now with a busted PC
