Abouy 6 or 7 years ago I worked at a Circuit City. A friend gave me a buch of CDs with some freeware and shareware. I found one CD I never used, Marcromedia Flash Studio MX. Macromedia went out of business and sold to Adobe if I'm not mistaken. I did not install the program, but does that mean the Copy Rights are void because that company isn't around any more? Cuase if I could now use the program without getting into legal trouble that would be excellent, I udnerstand it was worth like $1000.

  1. If you have a legally obtained key for it, it's perfectly fine to use, in the same way you can still use Office 97 even though it's been superceded by several products since then.

If you have a serial pirated from the Internet, it's just as illegal to use that key as it would be with the current version.  Changing ownership doesn't void the copyright on the product.
