idk about that. utley is a great player no doubt but ortiz will be back around the all star break or a little later. roberts is a solid 2nd baseman and bedard still has some value. however if u could get a pitcher on that deal and have a good 1st baseman and/ or utility (if u have those 2 spots covered) sure. but if i was u, i would really try to get another player with some fantasy value. hope this helped

who are you getting?

if you are getting utley:

yes as long as you have a decent backup behind ortiz and can risk giving up a startign pitcher.

if your giving utley:

you will be taking a risk giving up a potential mvp. based on how well ortiz comes back from his injury it could help both teams out

if you are getting utley, i'd ask for another player to even up the trade.  ask for a SP or a position player that you lack stats...i.e. speed or power.  if you are giving utley, then no.  its not easy to predict how ortiz will play coming off the dl and bedard has had back issues that he for whatever reason cannot kick.
