I am 15 years old 153 pounds 5' 81/2"my CBC was normal my mono test was negative my thyroid test was normal and my strep test was negative the doctor couldn't see anything wrong with me after i told him my throat hurt i got headaches and my chest hurt. he prescribed prozac for depression and anxiety because i have a lot of stress in my life. but i forgot to tell him some symptoms and im worried that he might have found something wrong had i told him these.

What i told him: headache, lots of stress in my life, loss of appetite throat hurt but not when swallowing, chest pain (vague)

What I wish i had told him: joint pain sometimes, pain in and under rib cages, feeling of throat soreness when you cough for a very long time yet i have no cough, mucus build up in back of throat/spitting mucus out almost constantly, that im worried its sinusitis or maybe something else physical.

could it still just be anxiety/stress? if it was sinusitus would he notice by looking at my eyes/nose/ears? if there is any other possibility of what is wrong with me what could it be? is excess mucus and what i feel that i forgot to tell him still be a part of anxiety/stress? Help Please!!

  1. Excess mucous isn't related to stress and anxiety.  If you had something serious, your blood test and other tests would have indicated it...so I think you should relax that it ISN'T SERIOUS.  You can get a sore throat from too much mucous, especially if you have a postnasal drip.  Mucous is somewhat caustic and can irritate your throat. It can also irritate your stomach and headaches can be upsetting to your stomach too.  If you had a sinus infection, you would be blowing out lots of green mucous.  You probably do suffer from sinusitis. You probably should inquire about some Flonase and an antihistamine like Allegra to dry things up.  I am not sure about the joint pain or rib pain, but if it is NOT constant, that is good.  If it is once in awhile then I doubt it is a serious condition.  Your headaches could be caused by the sinusitis and/or the anxiety.  Hopefully the Prozac will help in this area. If you feel you need to see your doctor again then you should just call and go in for another appointment and talk to him about the sinuses.
