The National Association of Manufacturers supports it.

“President Bush has laid out a constructive and balanced set of principles to curb greenhouse gas emissions by 2025."

  1. If I'm getting out of office in less than 300 days, I can say anything I want about the future.   Look at his projections for a balanced budget he made early in his term; "it should be reducing the debt by 10 years after I get out of office".   I have a machine that will make a trillion gallons of oil 60 years from now- wanna buy it?

  2. Wow!   Another prognostication from El Busho!    Hold on, I got to come with something good here...    Ah, nuf said.

  3. Now you are a business expert too?

  4. He wants credit for proposing any plan in case emissions are curbed by then, but  he'll be out of office shortly so it's too late for him to get anything approved, it's 7 years too late to meet his campaign promises, and he'll be dead long before 2025, so it has a long enough timeframe that he can never be held accountable for the results.

Typical politician stuff... all symbolic, no substance.  No wonder manufacturers support it, it'll give people something to talk about (make it look like something might be done) until the new politicians get in office and might start to actually get something accomplished.

The wording is amusing, as if "principles" could curb anything...

  5. I find the hatred of Manufacturers here ironic.  Since the institutions and people that hate them so much enjoy the products that they produce each and every day.  All you seem to do is worship the trees and could care less about the people who work every day to try and provide a better life for themselves.  Manufacturers are stressed every day and are held accountable for the product  they produce and  the work environment for their employess. Not like those given grants and who are held accountable for nothing in fact they always seem to need more money and solve nothing.   This site has proved one thing that elitism is alive and well and the leftist environmentalist are as selfish as ever.

  6. It's his way of saying expect me to try to sandbag it for the next 25 years.

  7. If the NAM support Bush's plan, we can be assured it does not exist based on his past behavior.

  8. Chinese have a saying: Nothing good will come out of an as.s.

  9. Time to rethink the two-term limit!  lol
