Is this amp good enough for these two Kicker L7's?

I have a Hifonics 1606D amp and I was thinking about getting two Kicker L7's for my SUV and I was wondering...

Is this amp alright for those subs?

I know that there are a lot of more powerful amps out there, but right now I have no money to buy them, barely enough for the subs...

So I was thinking, are these subs going to be getting pretty good power from my amp or not?

Specs for the amp:

RMS 550 watts @ 4-Ohms

RMS 1100 watts @ 2-Ohms

RMS 1600 watts @ 1-Ohm

  1. What size are the subs?  And how many ohms?

I don't think that subs comes in a single 2 ohm.

    2 12" LZ runs at 1500watts RMS (750 a piece), 3000 peak.

If both subs are 2 ohm DVC then, you can wire it down to either .5, 2, or 8 ohms.

That amp will under power these subs by 400watts if you wire it to 2 ohms, and would be about right if you wire down to .5 ohms.

If both of these subs were 4 ohm DVC, then you can either wire it to 4 ohms, or 1 ohm.

That amp will be ok when wired down to 1 ohms, but would be underpowering it if you wire it down to 4 ohms.  Just becareful, you are over-powering it a tad when you wire it down to 1.

    2 15" L7's run at 2000w RMS (1000w watts a piece), 4000watts peak.

No matter what ohm you have 2 or 4 DVC, that amp is not strong enough.

  2. i believe the l7's run at 1500 rms, so if you can wire them to 2 ohms you will get enough power to push them and get them pretty loud, you could try to wire it to 1 ohm but it may shorten the life of the subs since it will be over powered

  3. yes

  4. i need the specs for the 2 subs to tell
