Question:

Is this an Irish joke?

Our Taoiseach, martyr and professional 'Dub' Bertie Ahern has told us to tighten our belts and not to expect too much from the current pay talks, while at the same time he's looking forward to his 38,000 pay increase, with his ministerial goons receiving a 25,000 increase.

Does hypocrisy come naturally to members of Fianna Fail or do they have to work at it?

  1. it not only comes naturally but it's an entry requirement i think

  2. A phrase involving voting, Christmas and Turkeys comes to mind in voting for benefits or anything detrimental for yourself...

Have you ever heard of a politician who isn't a self serving weasel?

  3. ye buddy sure is a joke

  4. Oh and don't forget about the fact that Brian was told to upgrade the Government jet because the toilets are shite!!

Why can't they fly Ryan Air like the rest of us!!

  5. why dont you all go on strike.

  6. This happens in the UK too...every year...the politicians tell people like nurses (on £18,000 a year) that they will have to accept a 2.5% pay rise as the economy can't afford to pay more. Fair enough, you might think...but then they go and award themselves (already on £80,000+, plus expenses) a rise of 20%.

They're corrupt hypocrites, the lot of them!

  7. Typical civil servants, they all vote FF as it keeps them in their cushy jobs. if you cant be sacked from a job then you are not going to work hard at it.

FF are founded on hypocrisy, remember Devs childish refusal to accept the treaty which lead to the Civil war and subsequent death of irelands greatest son , Michael Collins.

Dev went on to be taoiseach and president of the country he did not recognise, smells like hyprocrisy but wait ther is more,FF say they are the republican party and their aim is a united ireland, however in the good friday agreement they dropped irelands claim to the north, articles 2&3 They did this just to please paisley,

  8. Ah lovly speech Berty,ye'l be on De bass ah tenite,I eh shook me hand wit ah history teday,we'll ah stand steadfast.

  9. Ah Fianna Fail, putting the publican back into the re-publican party.Unfortunately Fine Gael are like a party of your most embarassing Uncles and Aunties.

  10. Unfortunately mate, you are right....

World over, I'm sure statistics would show, members of government always continue to award themselves with huge 'above inflation' rises in pay, whilst the rest of us have a sticky bun fight for the crumbs...

I don't see it changing anytime soon, so take it on the chin, and vote differently next time.

  11. bertie sucks

  12. i don't know..

  13. €38,000.00 pay increase. Sure, isn't he good to himself. But hold on, he's been increasing his salary on a continual basis anyway??

I guess his bank in Drumcondra will know ;)
