Question:

Is this an early sign of diabetes?

I just read something that kind of freaked me out. I read the early warning signs of diabetes. The ones that match most with me was I'm suddenly peeing frequently (I know its not UTI, there is no pain involved, Ive had that before so leave that out). Another one is the excessive eating. I feel like I'm always hungry now, and I will eat, then like an hour or two later I want to eat again. Also when I sleep for a decent amount of hours, it seems like no matter how long I sleep, I'm still tired, and at night I may get a slight head ache because I am tired. And lastly, I dont know if this was really right, BUT, two nights in a row when the lights were turned off in my room but there was still alittle light from the clock, the room kind of looked blurry in a way. I dont know if maybe I was just over reacting or if it was real. The only thing that I dont have is the sudden weight loss, if anything I feel like I'm gaining the weight. Does this sound like early diabetes to anyone? or maybe its just a coincidence? And does these symptoms just come out of no where? Or do they show up very slowly? Help!

  1. Could be early signs of diabetes. The only way to know for sure it to get it checked by a doctor. They can do several different tests to find out.You can also get a bottle of strips in the drug store and dip them in your urine.Matching the color on the stick to the color on the bottle to check your sugar levels. If you choose to do this and 3 or more are higher levels you need to see a doctor and discuss your eating habits and what you can do to  control it.

  2. Why don't you just get checked to make sure?  It possibly could be a symptom of diabetes.  But the signs you read about are not "early warning signs".  They are symptoms and can come on very quickly, or over a period of time.  Some diabetics never have any symptoms at all.  Diabetes does not always cause weight loss.  Sometimes, if you have type 1 or 2, you may lose some weight quickly, but sometimes type 2 will cause you to gain some.  Here are some of the more common symptoms for type one AND type 2.  Both types have the same symptoms....

    Constant thirst

    Frequent urination

    Constant hunger

    Irritability

    Headaches

    Nausea or vomiting

    Leg cramps

    Blurry vision

    Itching skin, but no rash

Reoccurring yeast infections in women, itching p***s in men.

    Frequent boils

    Slow healing wounds

Burning, tingling sensations in hands, arms, legs, or feet

    Sweet smelling urine

    Unexplained weight loss or gain.

If you have some of these symptoms or even think you may have diabetes, it's best to be tested asap.

  3. go to any local diagnostic centre or g.p. and go for urine and blood test for sugar.

Even if u r diabetic, u can lead quite a normal life with stipulated diet and some exercise like jogging, walking, etc.

u may cross check with these symptoms, severe pain in calf muscles [below the knee joints], extreme thirst, hunger, reeling sensation or dizziness and exhaustion, debilitating weakness, unhealed wounds, frequent gum infections, etc.

if u r strict on ur diet and want medication for normal results in blood and urine, u may visit www.saioam.com for expert guidance and treatment options.

  4. Check your blood sugar, it takes a minute.
