I think I may have some sort of toenail infection. About two weeks ago, the left side of my big toe started to hurt real bad when I applied pressure to it. It was slightly swollen. Last week, I went to the doctor to get it checked out but it wasn't hurting anymore but the spot that was hurting turned purple. It's been like this for the last week now, so I decided to peel the skin off about an hour ago. Under the skin look slightly purplish and it feels fine now. Oh yes, last week I saw a little bit of yellowish ooze coming from under my toenail. The doctor said it was an ingrown toenail, but it's only one side. Is it an infection or what?

  1. um I'm sure that it wasn't such a good idea to peal of the skin. it probably is a toenail thing but just to be sure you should probably put like antiseptic cream on it and cover it with a plaster or something

  2. ingrown toenails can be just on one side and that sounds exactly like what it is.  And yes it could be infected, but its really just sounds like the typical life cycle of a really bad ingrown toenail.
