That doesn't sound like a newspaper headline. It is not written in the present tense, like most are, and doesn't really introduce the story. I'd be suspicious unless I saw the actual headline.

It's a stupid statement that requires validation.  He suffered more than any of us will ever know.

That is an assinine statement.  More correctly:

"John McCain Could Have Lived A Pampered Life"

Reminder: when his captors found out who he was, they decided to set him free.  But, he said he would not go without his men ... and he endured more torture.

So, as someone who is not a McCain supporter, I would find it very easy to say that paper is biased and untruthful so never read it again.

I live in the Asheville area. Biased statements like this one from a clearly liberal. democrat-supporting media is the reason i don't subscribe to that particular paper.  It is so biased, its a joke. Headlines like that don't surprise me., but the majority of common-sense people around have gotten used to the poison they spew and pay very little attention to it.

Yes, that IS a very irresponsible headline, but i assure you the Asheville Citizen-Times knew its ramifications before it was published, yet chose to do it anyways.

I think it's pretty terrible, especially since he was a POW. And furthermore, doesn't every senator live a pampered lifestyle? Look at John Kerry's lifestyle...the man flew a house over from Europe and rebuilt it in Idaho!

I wouldn't say irresponsible, I would say disingenuous.  He comes from a long line of military men. Do people in the military lead a pampered life...really?  This paper is showing it's obvious bias.
