Is this an ok 400m time?

I'm from a class c highschool in maine.This is my first year running track, my 200m time is 25.00. Is 54.89 a good time for my 400?

Based on your age it sounds pretty good, but I would compare with your teammates and see what they say.

That's a decent time (and a great one for Maine because running absolutely sucks there) but keep working and if you can get to the 51-52 range you would prob be able to score at dual meets....49-50 and you could score a state meets, 47-48 and you can compete on a national high school level

Click on that link.  It is the National times of the best of the best in high school.  From the looks of it the National runners are at 20.00 on 200m and about 50.00 on the 400m.  Considering its your first year, yea you have good times.. keep it up.
