  1. I don't really think so...I think it is more of an example of irony. An oxymoron is generally just a few words like: hot chili, mud bath, act naturally, straight angle...etc...

    I do not think your sentence is an oxymoron.  hope and unhappiness do not quite seem self-contradictory to me.
