This woman was pictured snorting cocaine which caused a lot of controversy, then Billionaire Philip Green gives her a clothes line at Top Shop which probable made her more millions and now she has a £1,500,000 gold statue made of her. Why do "we" worship false idols?

I am sick of this culture of ours where we waste all this money on stupid things without thinking of where it should REALLY be spent, i have visited the British Museum and now i am not sure if i ever want to, it has lost credibility. It has one of the world's largest collections of cultural artifacts but now it contains this monstrosity, i am totally sick of this woman.

What about Jodie Kidd, who was set up by journalists selling cocaine, why do we let these people get away with still being in the public eye? They should be vilified. It makes me sick when cancer patient are refused treatment for drugs because they cost too much>>

  1. I agree with Shambo. I hate these magazines. I don't want to be told these women or beautiful and I'm inadequate! No wonder we all think we're fat and ugly (sorry not everybody thinks like this) but most women I've met all moan about their looks and what they're eating.

(right I'll stop now, I could go on) lol

  2. I think that celebrities should be paid a salary every month because a lot of them do a day job just like everybody else. I think it's disgusting that footballers get millions of pounds as do people such as Katie and Peter Andre who don't really do anything worthwhile. I don't dislike all celebs and do contradict myself because I am one of the many fools who buy those magazines. I do think credit where credit is due for sheer hard work and effort but why should they be photographed for looking good and so on? Some musicians, actors, writers .etc. worked their way up but others just got there on luck and knowing somebody in a position of power. It is kind of a class like culture to keep "we" the little people down but will anybody remember the likes of Kerry Katona, Paris Hilton or Victoria Beckham in 100 years time? Madonna, The Beatles, Gene Kelly and people along those lines will go down in history because they have/had talent and made a difference. Certain songs, books and films will also make history but some of these will be easily forgotten. Some of these celebs who release autobiography after autobiography have nothing to say except "look how great I am." Those people who have travelled, been through a horrific experience or achieved something are the ones that I wish to read about. Could we have less funding of some celebs, stick them on a salary and more funding of doctors, teachers, nurses, emergency services, care workers and people like that please? They should be the ones with the millions in the bank not the other way round.

  3. Totally agree, the celebrities (and i use that term very loosely with some) are idolised by not only people in this country but Wordwide, it is not just our home grown Celebs who are like this it is also in America too. It will only get worse, and the media makes it worse, youve just given a few examples theres plenty more.

Your last comment about Cancer patients, 100% agree, this country has got to get its priorities right, i have witnessed first hand what Cancer does to people, and i expect other users have also, and drug companies who have found drugs to extend a Cancer patients life or sometimes cure it, are refused funding by this Government to give ALL sufferers of this terrible illness medication to help them.  the so called "Postcode Lottery" system also sucks ... why should it be like this in todays modern World? we are not a third world Country, we are one of the richest, but seem to spend it elsewhere.

Some of our American users on here, are probably envious of our NHS in the UK, believe me, its not that fantastic when you look closer, believe me i know first hand and family members.

  4. I couldn't agree with you more, I am also am sick to death of it, glamorising drugs binge drinking etc and the media writes stories as if we should feel sorry for them. I watched my FIL die very slowly and in great pain of cancer, a bone marrow transplant may have saved him but he was considered too old for that.

  5. I lived in England for 9 years and I 100% TOTALLY agree. Then we wonder why drugs are so rampant in England with most 15 yr old girls choosing to go out on week-end nights looking like actual whores. It disgusted me when i literally had a 14 yr old coming onto me for s*x, I was 19 then and had to push her away she was like a magnet. Sikkk

Plus, Kate Moss is hardly good looking. In my eyes at least, maybe Im weird.

To the weird answerer above me. Eff off with ur anti football comments.

  6. Yes - they're a complete waste of space. Parasites.

  7. England, not Britain,

  8. I am mightily sick of this celeb culture and I blame every single one of you who have ever bought those trash magazines. Get a life and stop worshiping false idols.

  9. amy winehouse??? j/k

  10. One of the many reasons I left.

  11. Its not good but hasn't societies from day immemorial held up deities to the masses to throw gold at.Not a modern day sport by a long way.Consequently its all as bad to me,books have a lot to answer for new or old.

  12. It's easy to show what we all think - just stop buying anything from BHS and Top Shop.

  13. Point taken on the, glorifying unsavory behaviour issue, and the ridiculous amounts of money the industry generates.

However, I couldn't help but notice your avatar.

    Football fan are we.??

    Enough said.

EDIT:  Don't go gettin your panties in a bunch Marco.!!!  I was simply making an observation.

EDIT: Now Sir XY, If you actually read what I said, at no point did I judge or label you. Go on, read it again.

However, it seems ok to judge people who happen to like celebrities and buying gossip mags. (I would like to state at this point, that I am not one of those people)

I was merely pointing out that, the football industry also has been known to glamourise individuals, who have a less than angelic character, while paying their players enough money to buy a small country and fleecing their fans with wildly overpriced strips and merchandising.

If you like football, thats ok with me.

If they like celeb culture, fine carry on.

I wasn't judging, attacking,or name calling, (as you have with me.) I was only making a comparison.

Since you did get all shirty, lets make another comparison shall we.?

When was the last time you heard of rival gangs of Jodie Kid and Kate Moss fans rioting in the streets, stabbing and beating each other...hmmmm???

  14. wow, and i thought America was worse
