Rosamund Alyssum?

Since Rosamund stems from "Rose," I figured it could be fitting to use another flower name. But is it just gauty??

  1. I don't like it.

I would use something easier like Rose.

  2. I don't like it very much...

  3. Don't like either one, sorry. Name her Rose Allison or something and save her years of teasing.

  4. I don't like it

  5. I'm not wild about either name, but especially not Alyssum.  It just reminds me of asylum...as in insane asylum.

  6. its really not my taste, personally, but if you like it go for it

  7. Hope these names help! =)

    Rosalyn Alyssa

    or

    Alyssa Rose

  8. Yea it just sounds weird. Its not even pretty. Not cute. Rose would be pretty but the middle name... ehhhh not really cute

  9. Why not Rose? It is an amazing name. I can't really get my self to say the other one...nicely put its not that nice. How about using it in the future maybe for a pet?

Hey that's not nice you want your daughter to suffer with an ugly name while your name is isobel (which is amazing) tsk tsk.

  10. Personally, I would go for a shorter middle name if I had a lengthy first name, but it's all a personal thing, so you should go with what you feel is right :).

It also depends on the surname if it fits ok.  Kids are rarely known by their middle name, and most the time, no-one even knows what it is, so I think the most important part is that the first name works with the surname.  I remember my brother going to school with a kid called Rett Butler, and I thought that was a bit sad (Gone with the Wind was fairly big for us in the 80s).  I have heard other ones over the years, and I think that's the main thing to be careful of, or the kid will hate it and end up having it changed later anyway.

Edited to Add:  With both my children, we had a handful of names picked out, but we didn't name them until we saw them.  For some reason a name just ends up fitting the baby once you see them!!

  11. I don't really like it, sorry!

  12. Rosamund is lovely, but that middle name...sorry, it does sound gauty. What about Rosamund Alisa (pronounced ah-LEE-sah)? Or if you're into flower names:

    Rosamund Anthea

    Rosamund Azalea

    Rosamund Briar

    Rosamund Bryony

    Rosamund Calanthe

Rosamund Erica ("erica" is the Latin word for heather)

    Rosamund Ione

    Rosamund Linnea

    Rosamund Violet

    Hope I helped!

EDIT: Glad you liked them! Here are some other, less flowery ideas for middle names:

    Rosamund Adela

    Rosamund Ailis (pronounced ay-LEESH)

    Rosamund Anastasia

    Rosamund Ariadne

    Rosamund Belle

    Rosamund Celeste

    Rosamund Delilah

    Rosamund Eleanora

    Rosamund Faith

    Rosamund Faye

    Rosamund Hope

    Rosamund Juliana

    Rosamund Justine

    Rosamund Louise

    Rosamund Louisa

    Rosamund Serenity

    Rosamund Starr

  13. I would go with a simpler middle name, Lynn, Ann, Marie.
