Question:

Is this bad customer service?

So I was at Guitar Center the other day, buying a new guitar. When I asked the guy what the return policy was, he said "It's 30 days...." then looked at me and started probing me with questions. "How come?" So I told him it was because I just wanted to see how it sounded on my amp, and see if it's a lot better than my old guitar and all this other stuff. And he was really annoyingly suspicious; and I knew exactly why...

Then he proceeded to tell me "a lot of people get the idea that they can just 'rent' the equipment and bring it back for a full refund, you know?" and I told him that wasn't my intention. Anyway, I feel it was really bad customer service on his part to assume that that's why I was asking. You know? Anyone else agree?

  1. No not on his part for he was just trying to protect his employers merchandise.  Frankly that was not a good question to ask for it simply told him what YOUR plans wer for the quitar.  I believe you were in the wrong otherwise you would have never asked that question.

  2. I definitely agree with you. If you did not report this abusive manner then you should.

  3. No it was not bad customer service

if people have done that in the past than he obviously doesn't want it to happen again because then he just got cheated out of his money

  4. Yes, it is.

Bad customer service is whenever the customer feels uncomfortable.

  5. Return fraud is a HUGE problem.  I am not sure why some people think that stores are there to buy stuff back from them rather than to sell stuff.  If i want something i buy it and if i dont want it i dont buy it.
