I currently have this CROSS bike:

if I by this one:

will it be easier to go with? I mean will it take less effort to reach the same speed? Basically, does the difference between Cross and Road bikes lies in that road bikes are easier to go with but less robust?

  1. You will ride much faster with a road bike, but you will have to stay on paved roads. Dirt, gravel, and off-road are not suitable for road bikes.

If you are looking for something with more speed, but still robust you might try looking at cyclocross bikes. They combine the geometry and a lot of the benefits of a road bike with the stability needed to bike off road. Mind you, you should not take them into really rough terrain, but trails, gravel, and dirt are no problems.

  2. i guess...the suspension on the bike you have now absorbs some of your pedaling energy so if you do not have any i reckon you will go the same speed with less effort
